With the assembly elections approaching closer in Himachal Pradesh , the Congress Party on Sunday held a meeting in Delhi with leaders from the state to deliberate on the plans to strategize the organization at booth and micro level to reach out to the people in peripheries of the inhospitable geographical terrain of the hilly Himalayan terrains.
This meeting was held and presided over by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel who is the party observer for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls.
Rajiv Shukla, AICC state in-charge, observers Sachin Pilot and Partap Singh Bajwa, Pradesh Congress Committee chief and MP Pratibha Singh chalked out a plan for micromanaging the assembly election besides giving training to the party workers at the grassroots level.
The Congress party also discussed the campaigning plans and media strategy to be used in the upcoming assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh, said a senior Congress leader from Delhi.
The Congress in Himachal Pradesh feels assuredly confident of winning the assembly polls as the people of the state elect government alternatively if we look into the electoral history.
But all is not well in the Congress Party in Himachal Pradesh with many leaders working cross-purpose in many constituencies in the state to accomplish individual goals instead of invigorating the party.
In the last round of Assembly elections, the grand old party lost Punjab to AAP and gave a dismal performance in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur, with the BJP retaining power in the four states.
This year two state assembly elections- Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are likely to be held in the month of November.
