Shimla, May 20
A 65 years old woman tourist hailing from Pune in Maharashtra was killed in Kulla in Himachal Pradesh when a raft overturned in the river, drowning five family members in the deep and turbulent water, said Kullu district administration.
“Five members family was riding in a raft in the river water from Babeli to Bashing and the raft suddenly overturned drowning all five members of a Maharashtra family. Four members including a son , daughter in law, father and grand son were rescued from the river along with the mother. But mother woman got unconscious and died after a while,” said a source in local hospital.
The Kullu police have initiated a probe, studing all circumstances that caused this water rafting accident.
