NIA Arrests Arvind Negi, an IPS Officer Accused of Leaking Secret Document

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Arvind Digvijay Negi, its ex-investigating officer for allegedly leaking secret information to the overground workers of terrorist outfit Leshkar-e Taiba (LeT).

He was arrested on Friday from Delhi and was nowadays post as SP police in Shimla after repatriation from the NIA.

The NIA official release reads,”During the investigation, the role of AD Negi IPS, SP posted at Shimla (since repatriation from NIA) was verified and his houses searched. It was found that official secret documents of NIA were leaked by AD Negi to another accused person who is an OGW of LeT in the case.”
The agency says that the accused officer has violated Official Secret Act and his assets are being probed for corruption.

Arvind Negi who became an IPS officer in 2016, hailing from tribal Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, is a winner of police medal for his meritorious services for solving of many criminal cases.

This former officer has been with NIA since beginning, having solved many complicated terrorist cases in Kashmir, bringing them to final stage.

Arvind Negi also probed serious Hindutva terrorist cases, taking them to the final stage. This police officer had an impeccable track record of investigating complex criminal cases involving terrorists of various hues during his posting in the NIA except his recent alleged questionsble role.
