Israeli Trekker Goes Missing in Himachal, Reach Operation Begins

One of the two Israeli trekkers who was crossing the Hamta Pass to reach Koksar in Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh went missing in the intervening night, said Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority (HPDMA) here today.

Two Israeli national Yuvan Cohan and Ran began their journey together from Kullu to reach at Koksar in Lahaul-Spiti by trekking the Hamta Pass but Ran failed to reach and lost on the way, said the. HPDMA.

Police of both districts Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti have been intimated and teams of experts comprising local and police have begun the search operation to trace the missing Ran.

Yuhan Cohan had reached at Koksar safely and intimated the district police and local administration at Koksar in Lahaul-Spiti.

Many a times adventure tourists go missing in Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti districts in Himachal Pradesh as they are unaware of the inhospitable high altitude trekks of Western Himalayas besides ill prepared for the trekking adventure without expert guide.
