Kullu and Amritsar grew geographically closer on Sunday Oct 1 when Alliance Air flew 28 tourists from Kullu to Amritsar.
The flight took off at 8.10am from the valley of gods with 43 seaters plane crossing the hills to reach Amritsar at 9.20am.
In the beginning the fare charged from travellers would cost only Rs 1999 as introductory price to attract passengers. The return flight started at 10.45am carrying 15 passengers from International Airport in Amritsar to reach Kullu at 11.55am.
This flight will cut down the travelling time to reach Kullu by about 7 hours as the flight will take only about 1hour instead of 8hours ordeal journey from Chandigarh.
Large number of businessmen across Himachal Pradesh have appreciated this government move to ferry tourists to the state after the monsoon disaster hit the state.
