Saroj Chauhan (10 March) Himachal Pradesh government has readied a transfer policy for teachers of various categories from primary to higher level in the education department to bring the qualitative changes in the deteriorating standard of government institutions across the state.
“To ensure better quality education in the state, we have readied a draft of transfer policy for teachers in Himachal Pradesh which will be passed in the coming cabinet meeting to make it a law,” said a senior bureaucrat working with the government.
“The Education Ministry has divided all the 80,000 teachers working in the education department into 14 categories from primary school to the college level and their transfer will be done only from January 1 to March 15. During the rest teaching times no teacher will be disturbed,” said sources in the Education Ministry.
“To ensure transparency in the transfer policy, all the official procedures and processes will be carried online so that teachers can see it all on digital platform to arrest the growing influences of the powerful people,” said the insiders involved with drafting the policy.
In his Budget speech on March 9, the Chief Minister Jai Ram had also announced about making a new transfer and posting mechanism for the teachers based on robust and transparent process.
